I am finding this book by David Glantz a very interesting read (from a perspective of someone who knew only the basic stuff about the war in the eastern front)
And I think the picture on the book cover (which I never have seen before) is one of the most harrowing and terrifying depictions of what real war must be. It is probably edited and/or staged, and has an "impressionistic" look about it, almost like a painting but it is amazing, IMHO

I tried to find more about this picture and the only thing I saw is that it apparently depicts soviet artillery in action. Anyone knows something more about it ?
