Marshal Klinkonovski intends to push fritz back into the Rhine. We await for the enemy to show their faces so that we may see the fear on them.

moral victory

NEWS FLASH

SIGNAL magazine reports that the enemy commander has been sacked!! In a late breaking story Marshall Klinkenhoffen has been replaced by Marshall Kokoda.
We can only assume that this is further evidence of the purges that Stalin carries out amongst his officer corp in order to protect his dictatorship of a regime against the rightfull uprising of his downtrodden people.
We the Deutsch Volk and Wermacht are only too happy to help liberate the Russian people from this madman who bruttally represses them.
We will redouble our current effect against this NEW puppet marshall (Kokoda) and throw him back to Moscow.

Uncle Joe's tactics effective

Post by Kokoda »

Hail to the great leader, Stalin. The change of field commander has obviously led to substantial personality disturbance of the German commander. He clearly thinks he is both German AND Russian ( See game C). I suspect his troop morale will plummet soon!

enemy sighted!

Post by pbhawkin1 »

Reports from the front are filtering back that lead elements of our forces have sighted the enemy in two areas and have started to engage them.
We are pleased to report that one T34 has been destroyed (by stug) along with another being disabled and 2 others being suppressed heavily. Nearby infantry have also been engaged with them having some suppression.
We have captured one victory hex with another couple in sight.
The enemy laid a rather random and ineffective morter barrage that did no damage.
We look forward to reporting further victory in our next report.

german turn 3

Post by pbhawkin1 »

Signal reports:

Our northern forces have captured the VHs located here and are engaging the enemy at long range (10+hexes) with our panthers and Stug 40s. we have managed to knock out 2 T34 and engaged 4 others.
In the centre we have advanced on the VHs from overwatch positions despite his artillery barrage. His forces that we had engaged earlier have retreated.
In the South we have destroyed 2 T34 by long range fire (10 + hexes) and are approaching the VHs.
He seems to be advancing on a wide front with a force of about 20 T34 and attached infantry with supporting artillery.
Our intel will clarify this further next turn.

german turn 4

Post by pbhawkin1 »

That old saying: "there seems to be something wrong with our guns today" rang true this turn.
The russian hordes are massing in the north with a charge by 16 T34s on the Northern VHs! We have hit numerous tanks but only managed to knock out 5 in total (3 this turn 2 the last).
Our small group of Panthers with a few stug 40s are holding on until reinforcements arrive.
In the centre we have started the occupation of the VHs and have taken out a T34 but lost a panther this turn and a Tiger during his turn
In the South the VHs are almost ours and we have destroyed 3 T34s during his turn.
the next few turns will show how deep his reserves are.
The northern VHs are shaping up to be a major battle (as they are in game C)

german turns 5 and 6

Post by pbhawkin1 »

In the North our forces have destroyed 16 out of 19 T34 (2 abandoned) whilst we lost a Panther and stug destroyed and one stug abandoned. Our reserves (2 stug 40s) turned up to engaged him and destroy at least one T34.
I think it safe to declare the northern VH safe.
In the centre we have destroyed about 5 T34s with 3 or 4 more suppressed and heavily engaged his supporting infantry. Again there is no or little danger to these VHs.
In the South he made a run on the roads to the centre VH but lost about 5 T34s and 2 T34 deep in the south. Despite this we lost a Tiger 1. Our recon forces have his home VHs in sight.
It is only a matter of time before the Communists are defeated.

VICTORY

Post by pbhawkin1 »

SIGNAL reports that today Field Marschall Pbhawkin held talks with Marshall Kokoda and accepted his unconditional surrender of all his forces in the AO.
It appears that Kokoda was dismayed by the poor quality of armour he was given as well as poor initial starting positions.
He said that he was unable to recover from losing 33 T34s destroyed and 3 abandoned as well as about 218 men lost. In return our forces suffered 4 AFV lost )1 panther, 2 stugs and a Tiger1) along with about 37 men lost.
It has been decided by OKW to release Marshall Kokoda in return for german prisoners. If he survives Stalins rage at his failure we may meet him on the battlefield again.

Marschall Klinkenin,

The German propaganda machine has misrepresented my position entirely. They'll be saying that Wittmann didn't eat babies next!

I would never question the quality of the magnificant armour of the Soviet, nor the opening deployment of my tactically superior predecessor. (although if that deployment is new doctrine for our army I willl have to get used to operating without any recon troops).

The surrender was arranged only to lure the Germans into our cunning trap.

See you at the Gulag,

Kokova.

ps Do you need the final score sheet to check? Both pb and I agree he gets the 4 points - unless you score on percentage too.
