Deploying SDV from DDS etc...

Hello All,
I've been working on a scenario which involves a US Navy SEAL team raid on a PLA OTH Radar station and the only plausible means of evading detection is to deploy underwater via submarine. While there are multiple US submarines currently configured to support undersea raiding ops with a Dry Deck Shelter, the only such unit available in the CMANO database appears to be a Los Angeles Class Block I. Even with this one example, it does not appear to support docking/undocking of a Swimmer Delivery Vehicle and I can't figure out if its possible to launch a SEAL Combat Swimmer using a weapon command. Thus far, the scenario begins with two SDVs already launched near the assumed motherships. However, they will not accept any submarine as a home base and as a result end up automatically abandoning any mission I try adding them to in the process of seeking the nearest surface vessel.

Are there any other methods available for launching an undersea SEAL raid?

I think you could do this via Lua.

Create a reference box that the submarine has to enter to deploy the SEALs. When the submarine enters the box, use Lua to spawn the swimmer vehicles. Then you can have a "recovery" trigger that looks for the swimmer vehicles in the same (or different) area after some time has elapsed. Once the swimmers are inside the recovery box, delete the units.

This works with any submarine, by the way.

Create mission add unit to it. Deactivate.

Event editor. Activate mission action when triggered (area, time etc).

Will this actually solve the problem of the SDV automatically searching for and trying to return to the nearest surface motherships though? This has been the main problem since they always end up going in the wrong direction whether they've been added manually or through a script. I've made sure that all bingo rtb and auto refuel options are disabled in the mission and/or unit doctrine orders and they still end up going backwards no matter what I do.

I'm just trying to recall but there are more than just the LA class that have the DDS. I believe the Archerfish class and also the Benjamin Franklin DDS class. You can load SEAL RHIBS on board and launch them as normal. Alternatively you can set a series of events to make that happen.

Might I recommend taking a look at some of the Northern Fury series, 9.4 has the DDS deployable from an Archerfish class. 9.6 is an event based deployment and 9.7 has a Benjamin Franklin also with an event based deployment - which I think is easier to manage.
