Around Leningrad, Kesselring moves his men into attack positions. Mannerheim does the same from the north. Student's Para's are transported by Italian planes and dropped upon Leningrad. The Soviets call upon every men available to fight (notional included). The AA Gun keeps silent, since using it will mean disorganisation and another +1 for the attack. Kesselring doubles 8 units in the land attack. The Finnish MECH isn't included in the attack, because of the Pink AA gun, robbing the USSR of 2 additional land combat factors. Out of the Baltic Sea the Germans adds shore bombardment and the few available planes add their combat factors in the attack. Mannerheim finally, provides HQ support and winterized units lead the attack (and the defense) of the city. A risky attack indeed, with only +6...

Now, the Axis have to pray that the ice conditions stay good, or they will lose some units:

At the Ostront, the German troops improve postions. They don't attack,, since they can't get good odds:

Umezu captures Ulan-Ude. Komsomolsk is captured by Japanese forces too. In Australia, Yamashita in Australia decides it is time to retreat a hex. There is nothing which can be gained by attacking. In Birma, the forces of Yamamoto attacks a CW division:

Nice on the Leningrad attack. That will be a lot of units freed up to a point (Still have to garrison I am sure). Also good attack in Africa to straighten the line and anchor on the mountain hex with the mountain unit. It will be a difficult line for the Allies to crack anytime soon unless they start rolling out the offensive chits. (Which is entirely possible).

There are two German MTN units in that anchor hex in Morocco...

And on Leningrad. I almost called of that attack, after seeing the final odds. However, I reasoned that Kesselring could reorganise 8 units if the attack would fail, after which next impulse, whatever the weather, I would have attacked again, killing of the remaining defenders. Leningrad is a real tough hex to crack...

Those offensives will be build starting 1943. It's no use to have offensives, if one doesn't have the units to use them...

The Soviets railmove a factory out of Sverdlovsk to Stalinsk. They strengthen positions around the Urals:

In Morocco Eisenhower improves his positions and Clark arrives with reinforcements. However, things are still not good, since the Axis have more air available in the region. And it is the Allies who need to attack to make the Axis move more units into Morocco, not the Axis...

In Burma, the CW retreats towards the Indian border. With the mountains as defense and FTR's in the area, they are confident that they can stop the Japanese advance:

An Italian fleet squadron enters the Red Sea. They search for enemy shipping. Axis roll 2, Allies roll 10. The escorts of the transport ships are blown out of the water by the big guns of the Littorio. The transport ships themselves are damaged:

The Littorio gets some near misses, disabling the ship for further combat:

Italian SB's enter the Cape Verde Bassin. However, it proves to be a big ocean again (Axis 10, allies 9).

Von Leeb rails towards Murmansk. Prince Paul rails into Kazachstan. The Finnish MECH is railed to the Ostfront, where the German positions are improved. At Leningrad, units move into position to get railed to other area's. There are no attacks in the USSR, due to the weather.
