Skirmishers

How does one detach skirmishers from an infantry battalion? Can light battalions go completely into skirmish order? If so, how is this done?

When the battalion is static and still not inside the musket range of enemy, the contextual meny show you the command for split skirmishers; a screen will ask you how many or what rate of skirmishers you want detach

If you use not a modded toolbar you can do it from the courier orders.
