Question about units

Post by jarmenia »

If I'm understanding how combat works correctly, other than the extra PP for multiple units, there is no difference between 15 rife in one unit and 5 MG in another unit on the same hex or having both the rifle and MG in the same unit. Am I understanding things correctly?

Depends on what you mean.... offensive wise no difference defensive wise it matters where and how your units are built due to the way the attacks work, each individual unit sft has a preferred attack sft or sfts.
Favoritism is alive and well here.

Can you explain a little more? I'm not following. Aren't all the units in a hex attacked at the same time?

No, some units like artillery, AT Guns, trucks and staff are classed 'rear area' units and are not attacked unless the attackers breakthrough the defending infantry during a combat round. Infantry, armor, MG, and bazooka are all classed front line units.

I understand about the front line vs rear area. Are you saying that in a unit of mortars that don't have any infantry in the unit, the mortars are on the front line even if there is another infantry unit in the hex just not in the same unit as the mortars?
