"Aircraft Reinforcement" rate numbers not adding-up...

Post by Apollo11 »

Hi all,

For the first time in my UV history I spend some time carefully looking at
actual numbers in "Aircraft Reinforcement" rate screen.

Strangely enough some numbers are not adding-up... :-(

If, for example, some monthly reinforcement rate is 5 then (I hope) this means
that in 5 months of gameplay there should have been 25 aircraft available
(5x5=25).

Unfortunately for some types this is not the case and number difference is
almost 15-20%.

Is it possible that aircraft in "Aircraft Reinforcement" are used for
squadrons that are in transit to battlefield (i.e. that they use aircraft from
"Aircraft Reinforcement" pool and that this is not registered there) and thus
discrepancy in numbers?

Any ideas gentleman?

P.S.
In PBEM I noticed this I am playing as Japanese and almost 5 months of gameplay passed.

There is a random number involved in calculating the number of replacement aircraft. I forget the exact formula. The number you see will be the average number but your actual number may vary somewhat.

Apollo...I had a similar question once when I noticed my "Claude" replacement numbers were WAY to high. I couldn't find the thread with the search tool, but the answer I was given was similar to the one you surmised...that is out of theatre replacements.

Aircraft are being used up to fill out of theater units. This is why the Claude seems to be doing such strange things with the Pool & Used numbers. Take a peak at the CV's that have not arrived yet. They are swiping your planes. Drove me nuts till I figured that out. ;)

Planes that are upgraded do not count as "used" and do not get recorded in that column. But the displaced types do appear in the "pool" section and if distributed to other units, they count as used. So if a Nell unit upgrades to a Betty, then the 27 Bettys are not counted as "used". And the Nells go into the "pool". They can then be distributed to your other Nells. So you might read lots more Nells used than could be created at 4 per month, but these are the second hand models. And your HUGE block of missing Bettys are already on the map.
I'm a hazard to myself.

I think something else here is going on rather than just upgrades. I mean in my game Nell rates are 50% low. Mavis rates are 40% low. These planes are not used for upgrades. Alf rates are 120%. Maybe it is the randomizer Cap mentioned. But these seem too far off for that to be the complete answer.

I just checkee my replacement rate and it say that I have no P400s in my pool and have used "412" of them! Must be pawning them off on the Russians again.

This is exactly why is started this thread in first place...

Mavis and Nell numbers are not adding-up...

But, as I wrote in my first message here, it can be that numbers do not
match because, in campaign, we received some Nell and Mavis units and,
perhaps, while they travelled to us they drained some aircraft from pool.

IMHO this is the only plausible/possible explanation...
