Question about Rallying

Post by Gerry4321 »

In the diagram below from Jorgen's video, a leader and unit have both routed. When it got to the rally part it said the leader failed the self-rally. But it did not mention anything about the squad. Can they self-rally too? I know what ASL does, just wondering how the game handles rallies and self-rallies.

Gerry,

I would guess they failed the check too. I didn't watch the video in depth, but here are a few details of rallying.

1) All broken personnel units will try to recover from their broken state either with or without presence of good order state Leader.

2) The best way to recover broken personnel units is to stack them with good order leader in rallying bonus terrain like woods, building or rubble hex.

3) Personnel units in Broken/Broken+ state are rallied automatically in The Administrative Segment.

Some past the test and so fail it [;)]

Will we be able to get a peak before the 25th?

Variation on the question as I had just had a broken leader and squad in the same hex. In the Admin phase I get this report:

- Sergeant ... failed to rally himself ...

But there is no mention of the squad trying and failing to rally (I understand that a unit can fail a rally attempt). Questions:
1. Did the squad try and rally?
2. Why no feedback like there is with the leader?

1. No. He will only try in it's Player Turn. i.e. a Russian squad in the Russian Player turn etc.
2. Good idea. I know Peter will be collecting all your thoughts and add what he can in a Patch

So a squad can only try the self-rally in their own Player Turn? Makes sense now. But with a leader present they could also try in the opponents Player Turn? Could not see this distinction in the manual.

Thanks.
