Game can not progress to naval battle

Hi, strange error came up. Choose naval with Japan. The game does not go on to the naval combat sequence.

Loaded the save, naval with Japan, moved one ship into the Bay of Bengal, ended the phase, got an initiate combat screen. All appears normal to me.

Could it be there were no sea zones containing both Japanese and enemy units after the naval moves?

Very very strange. It works for me now as well. Last night it was completely messed up! Very strange!

Now I get the error that I think started the full thing.
Japan moves out in the bay of bengal. Finds the CW convoys (no one flies any aircraft).
Japan sinks or aborts every convoy except 1.
Second round of combat, japan finds again. Rolls well and gets an overkill. 1 destroyed and 2 aborted. There is not enough convoys to absorb all damage and the game does not progress.

I duplicated your result and the beta version (2.1.4.4) crashed (MadExcept) when the X was applied to the lone remaining CW CP in the second round of combat.
