:)

I skipped a few turns as nothing happened except for movements. GB tried the fire ships decision, but no effect.

Emperor, any chance of a bit more explanation? I know its a ball-ache and if you don't want to that's fine. But if you have got the time it would be nice - for us fence sitters - to understand a bit more about the game and what is going on behind your decisions.

So for example:

- Why has the UK invaded Spain? What's the situation with Portugal? Doesn't an Allied Spain and France = the UK kicked off the Peninsular?
Now Maitland, now's your time!

Not playing the UK, I have no idea why he did so. Boredom maybe? :) A gamey move to get Spain it's army reform :)? (They have to be invaded to get it.)

One of the things that happens is that Spain will get to chose the Army Reform option, provided they can afford it. At least he will get the new units in the force pool, and the ability to create Corps, full Divisions, (I think on that one.). March to the Sounds of the Guns. (That isn't automatic. It's a choice among many that you spend money and engagement points for.) The French Army starts with all that

The other nations have to wait *years* to get their army reform. Only France gets to build division sized units and corps. Corps allow MTSG. What is MTSG?

If spread out in different regions, there is a chance of
supporting an adjacent Corps engaged in combat (i.e. “March
to the Sound of the Guns”). This ability is influenced by the
level of Military Control in both regions and by
the Corps’ Cohesion.

Divisions don't get to do that. So any nation w/o Corps would have to keep it's divisions in one area, with attendant traffic penalties of having many units moving on the same road network, while Corps allow you to march in adjacent areas, yet concentrate for battle.

Will it spell the UK getting kicked out. Probably. All the nasty stuff you've read about the Spanish Ulcer will be GB's problem now.

As to my plans...... Well, let's just say that it would be nice to make Davout an Army commander as his strategic/attack/defense ratings equal Napoleon. But as it stands, the Grande Armee is balanced so it can go into Prussia or Austria, while the Armee of Italy is staring at the Austrian border.

Portugal.... No idea. That's up to Spain.

Oh, promoting *anyone* to army command over Berthier will cost lots of NM and victory points

Turn 15

Aww, screw it. Davout gets promoted heads off to form a new Army with Lefebvre and Bernadotte. Possibly Marmont as well.

In the meantime, forming a corps for duty in Spain.

It is. That's the GB army reform. The Spanish army reform becomes available when Spain is invaded.

Doesn't need reform to do that.

Hmmmmm.....

At the start of Turn 18, what I speculated looks like it is true. Spain and Great Britain are at peace. And Spain refused my proposed state visit......

I was building a corps to help Spain. Now it looks like it will be used against Spain. Marshal Marmont is on the way as well.

St Cyr won his Marshal's baton. But it angers Kellerman, who in real life was already a Marshal of the Empire. The joy of Ageod's promotion system......

(I consider any French 3-star as a Marshal. But then again, it was an appointment, not a rank, so maybe they're on to something there....)

Things are lining up. GB and Russia are at war with France. Prussia and Austria are members of the Third Coalition formed by GB, but not at war with France.

I suspect it will be a dogpile on France......

Well, so be it. War with Austria.

Turn 19.

With Turn 18's declaration of war against Austria, both the Grand Army and Army of Italy invade Austria. The Army of Germany holds off to watch Prussia.

Bavaria is asked for some help, and the attentions of Berg and Bavaria are focused on Leipzig.

War against Saxony is declared as they go against Berg.

The war with the Kingdom of Italy continues.

(Maps of the invasion next post.)

Turn 21: Prussia declares war. Davout will deal with it,

GB lands in Italy with Moore, The Army of Italy is otherwise engaged, but I don't see the reason for this. The way I read the rules, Moore has to be alive for the Moore reforms to take place in the future.

What I mean is that if he dies, the reform never happens. He has to be in the game for it to come up.
