Help with B det Port svc

Post by paolorossi »

Dear all,

after 1 year and a terrible breakdown of my pc (I could not save my previous campaigns - aagh!!!!), I came back with witpae and scenario 1.
I'm working on the excel spreadsheet used also in my past campaign "a life ago", but .....
I can't find the B det port svc which should be based in Seattle
Where are they? they escape before beginning of the war (I send them court-martialed!!)?
Help!!
I re- installed witpae upgrading to the new version on the website
Many thanks
Paolo

IIRC they are turn one reinforcements at Seattle. They should be there unless they are road marching to LA.[;)]....GP

Teseo, just create a checklist for turn one - no memory/capability needed. You can open the created checklist i.e five years from now and go the through the motions setting turn one. Works like a charm.

Krull (Kull?) has already created such a checklist. tm.asp?m=2306421

They do the same things which any other land unit with the same type of devices does.

You will find naval support squads in the unit.  They help with unloading.  Read s.6.3.3.2.5 and 14.2.3.5 of the manual.

What Alfred said. Many of the places you want to develop as bases have no port or a very small one. That means it takes forever to unload even a small ship and some larger items may not unload at all. The naval support increases the unload and load rate and it will often be able to unload equipment that you need that cannot otherwise be unloaded.

When you get to the stage where you are launching invasions, these units can also help get the invasion equipment and supplies ashore more quickly.

In the early game I think you will find them invaluable at Suva and Nomea (for example).

Sir's Alfred and BB explained very well above.

As you establish your convey routes and hubs from the West Coast to Australia you will find the Port Service Bat - very valuable in speeding up the loading and unloading when you have multiple task forces congregating. My first 2 went those locations in a spoke and bu system.

Once I built up those two bases to very large port / airfield / fortifications I moved them on to lesser bases as Sir BB indicated.
