[SOLVED] CMANO Unable to find lua52.dll

Post by Somnus »

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I've got Windows 7 installed in Virtualbox on an OSX host. CMANO installs just fine, but when I go to run it I get the error:

Error in initializing 3D Graphics! Unable to locate a compatible graphics adapter.

Any idea on what I need to do here?

EDIT: Title changed to reflect issue

You need to install the VirtualBox guest extensions and enable the Direct3D support.

IIRC VMWare products (incl. the free Player) have better D3D support/emulation than VirtualBox.

Hm. I've done both of those things with no change.

I'd like to stick with Virtualbox if I can, but I might have to try the VMWare.

Any other suggestion in the meantime? I tried to run Windows Update, but it ran over night without actually ever saying it had found anything to install.

Actually, I installed it with Parallels. Now I don't get the 3d error, but it says it was unable to load lua

Update: The message actually references lua52.dll, but that is present in the Command directory

This solved the issue. Once I narrowed it down, I knew what to search for [8D]

I can't post links, so say the forums, since I'm at my 10th post, for another 7 days, otherwise I'd link the post that resolved it.

Basically, install vcredist_x86 even though you're running 64 bit and you're good.
