AI Close Assault?

Will the AI attempt to close assault a victory hex? Working on a scenario and in my playtest so far, it doesn't appear that the AI likes to close assault? Thanks.

Yep, the AI did it to me in 003 - Pershing on the Front. I was playing the Germans. Didn't bother me as much as it did idjester though! [:D]. Unfortunately, despite 3 attempts I have yet to finish the scenario because of bugs [:(].

Not the same but related. Seen the AI being reluctant to use the Advance Segment to advance into buildings that brings it closer to the objectives.
