I want the very first strike to be a surprise, which means it will have to be launched before Batavia airfield is fully built out, and before Allied ground forces are too close to Singapore. It will be a port strike with all the 4EB that can be stuffed into Batavia at whatever size it is then.

Naha - I guess it just still needs all the naval bombardments it can get, plus good die rolls. Not sure how many days they will need to rest this time. But after tomorrow there will be 2x old BB bombardments each day plus the cruisers. The Iowas will be thrown in at least once during the troops' recovery.

Some of the heavy cruisers that have been bombarding are in dire need of yard time. I wonder when Hong Kong will be available?

Well, this time around they rested too long, meaning that the defenders got too much of a break. But with so many more ammo ships in place at Daito Shoto now, that should change.

Supply I am not so sure about. At this place I suspect DAW HQ brought in enough supply to use as barricades, the idea being to force us to overcome the defenders because starving them to weaken them would take too long.

The armor is making way to cross into Wuchow at once. There are 23,000 troops there, but only 9,000 were there before the two Bdes crossed from the forest, and both have been retreated including one of them twice.

Over at Nanning, movement is still seen out of the city toward the east, and the hex between Nanning and Liuchow is now empty. The 2EB air strikes were very effective in spite of the terrain and should be again as our ground troops cross the river tomorrow.

Troop count at Samah (on Hainan) has fallen from something like 9,000 to 1,500 in the last couple of days. Our units are in position and will attack tomorrow.

The base is undamaged: engineers and a base force will begin landing tomorrow. The troops are still in great shape and will continue attacking to secure the island.

The troops at Naha are recovering well but of course require more time. AV is 1,949. Still some trouble getting the Iowas rearmed, I think that perhaps the loading of supply into the various AE/AKE got in the way.

Spreading out the AKEs/AEs to several bases will enable you to have more ops points to reload supplies on them. I would put an AKE at a smaller base and use that to top up CLs and DDs. The problem with loading the Iowas could be ops-point related or size of AE. You need something like 5200 ton capacity to arm those guns and there is a 5400 ton capacity AE available by converting the xAKs that had the 5800 ton capacity. I think there is even one size larger AE the allies can make but IIRC it meant using up a fast ship that was needed for fast amphib forces.

The Iowas rearmed fine from the smaller number of AE/AKE when Daito Shoto was a size 1 port (now it's 2), so I know that equation is covered.

There has been no place else to spread things out. Sailing all the way to Iwo Jima adds several days to the round trip, which does not solve the problem. Now that Tokunoshima is ours, I still won't post any there. Too vulnerable. When we get Naha that will be more defensible.

Despite disruption from the river crossing, all units are moving east to try and catch the enemy that exited the city before the attack. A number of base forces are moving in by strat road movement from Lang Son and should arrive in one or two days. Samah actually had 6,000 troops but is lacking in AV - so it seems the combat squads have been flown out. The attack there and on the zombies will continue tomorrow. Day after tomorrow for the crossing attack into Wuchow.
