PBEM file problem

Post by dmeans48 »

My son and I are trying to start a PBEM game. I am playing as Japan. Everything has worked until I try to send him the second turn. There is no combat replay file in slot 001 to send him. I can not find it in the save directory. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give.

Have you looked at this thread yet?

How to Start a PBEM

If you haven't, read through. If that doesn't resolve it, we'll dig further.

Thank you for the quick reply. I did exactly as the link you send said to do. My son loaded the game but said it did not ask him to generate a password. It just went straight to the save page. When I got the turn It did not ask for my password to enter the game. Upon loading the game I see it is dated Dec 9th. Looking at the combat and op reports are dated Dec 8th. Why I don't know. Neither I nor my son got to enter orders for Dec 8th. [&:]

The curious part is why it's not asking your son for a password. Which scenario is this?

It almost sounds like you did not start the game as a PBM. Maybe you inadvertently started it as a player vs AI or a head to head...

On the "Realism Options" page, did you select "HISTORICAL FIRST TURN"?

Also, are you certain that the radio button on the main page was turned to "PLAY BY EMAIL"?

I wrote down all the settings at start and emailed them to my son. Historical First Turn was set. Yes it was set to PBEM. The first thing it did was ask me for a password. After entering the password it ask me to save the game. I did. Then I email the turn to my son.

The password part is curious. I've PM'd you my email. Send the turn to me.
