I'm with you on this one. Grab terrain IF it will help you defend in '42, and planting yourself back on the Dnepr/Molochna line can be v. good for that especially as it can also shorten the line.

The following screen shots are posted without comment, but apologies to Loki for the (hopeful) humorous poke

The end

Post by RKhan »

Hitler had a look at his situation map and decided to end it all.

So this is the end of the AAR, which I had hoped to use to explore many other topics like Soviet Airforce and SU allocations etc.

I want to thank Sillyflower, Loki and Chaos for teaching me what little I know via their brilliant AARs.

I want to thank Pelton for giving me a yardstick for the German side. Pretending to play against the best has served me well.

Most of all, thank you to thedrillsgt for an enjoyable game.

Hopefully I will be on the boards again soon with another AAR. There is still so much to learn before I'm done with this game.

thanks (to both of you) for the AAR - always interesting to follow. In the circumstances I don't think there was any sense to go forward.

Nice job, you played this very well.

The early blizzard turns can be very painful for inexperienced axis players. Cavalry divisions that you were pushing around with hasty attacks are now suddenly ZOC locking your units and you can't retreat fast enough. I remember it well!

Once I saw the opportunity I skipped converting to cavalry corps. More ZOCs.
