I so agree with Dave. Does he own any of the ports on the way up Oz, or PM? Without them there is going to be alot of metal on teh bottom of the Coral sea.
Did he plan to invade or is this a kill CV's mission?
If its invasion he has just shot his bolt as far as bombardment goes.

I am sure that this was just a Kill-CV mission, but you would have to ask DoomedMantis about that.
Once again, it was the poor Allied Naval Search that has lead to all of this. If I had had enough warning I would have steamed my CVs to Noumea or some blank hex on the south-east of the map. But as it was one minute everything is OK and the next minute.."Oh look a JAP battle group is on my doorstep!":eek:
I would love to find and sink his tankers but they must be well east of the Aussie coast, as I have not even spotted them.
Doomed owns PNG so he can port there, also Irau is his.
The trouble is I really don't know how badly he has been hurt....the CRs never tell you the full truth.
Just wish I knew how to do a screen shot as it looks really cool with all of these red TF icons off the aussie coast.

Well it was a seek and destroy mission, but I think I should have stayed with the CV option as that was going well. I should have moved my CV's one turn earlier, and thougth about it just as I had saved the turn that I had left them their to long.
As for losses, the battle of Brisbane didnt fair as well as I had hoped, but at least all I will lose is about 5 DD's and 2 CL's (Raver lost 2-3 CA's, 3CL's, a CV and at least 4 DD's, everything else will be alright. The bright point here is that only one of my BB's suffered any real damage, and only one of my CV's will have to go back to Tokyo, the rest are all shipshape with plenty of planes geared up as well. As for losing ships for bombardment, well I am not worried as it still falls into my long term plans, and I will still have all my BB's bar one anyway. The only thing I was disapponted on really was the poor performance of my DD's who copped a bit of a hammering.
