All units eliminated bug

Post by obermeier »

Hello,

on turn 5 of 7 the last US leader was eliminated, the Germans cannot end the CC-Phase, because the game stops with a end of game window reporting a "draw" (Tutorial 2, see attached file)

It's not a bug, it's a feature. When one side looses all units the scenario ends.

Ok, but this seems odd. The last US unit was a leader, so to continue the game in order to take the last victory hex, the Germans do not kill the leader at the end of turn 5. After that the US leader could just jump into CC in turn 6 to kill himself and to stop the game by himself with a draw-result?!

Check the scenario objectives, killing American units does not give you victory points. It's the hex locations that you need to capture in order to win the scenario.

The scenario objectives say you have 7 turns in which to complete your objectives.

This is clearly a mistake, Peter, if players have to go to desperate lengths to avoid killing enemy units, for fear it may be their last, it's farcical.

It's not a mistake Mike, the scenario objectives clearly state that the objective of the scenario is to capture the Victory hexes locations and not killing the enemy units.

In any case, I will make this feature optional in the coming update.

I was going to report the same bug, but it appears reporting anything turns into an argument when clearly there is no logic outside of "that is what the objectives say". Looks like I will pass on reporting any bugs. What a shame.
