Japanese Supply in India

Post by palne »

Would someone be kind and try to put the Japanese in supply in India?

HQ in Canton. Some Japanese units in supply near the HQ's in Burma so I know the Burma road supply is working. But, I just can't figure out why the flipped HQ west of Burma in India that was flip by American bombers is not in supply through rail methods--and all the nearby units.

FYI: Crazy game! Check out all the Allied landings in the West, Denmark conquered in 43, Germans approaching China, Obscene amount of US carriers in the med....and Africa campaign gearing up for '44.

Looks like a bug in my eyes.

It should link via rail to the HQ by Burma - India border; which link up to each other, and then with 4 hexes getting easily to the rail and all the way to the HQ in Canton indeed.
By the looks it seems that the game allows only a "limited amount" of tertiary Supply source jumps though, as shown already in other screenshots / problems posted here.

One can not use rail to go from one HQ to another. Only basic supply (4 hexes) to an HQ or other secondary supply source, no roads or railroads.
SUPPLY PATHS
Supply paths are traced from a unit to a primary supply source. If tracing a path from a secondary supply source to a primary supply source, it is a railway supply path. If tracing any other supply path, it is a basic supply path
I thought I knew how to play this game....

The single most misunderstood rule in WiF - a RR path can only be used going to a Primary supply source.

I still don't understand why Yamamoto can't trace back along the rail until near burma and cross 3 hexes to the rail line in Burma and then trace all the way to Canton and use the fourth hex to cross the oceans to Japan?

The RR up in the far north by the place name "Ledo" is still CW controlled. Tracing via Chittagong requires going around the alpine hexside (can't trace supply through an alpine hexside), so all 4 hexes of the RR path are used to connect with the Burma RR, and it always requires one to get to the terminating port when tracing overseas, and that makes five, which is one too many.
