Game Crash #2 tutorial

I had no crew on gun (routed). On direct fire phase, clicked on gun and leader - game stopped responding/crashed. I did not save game - thought there was an auto save. Not so much I find.

I also had an interesting situation occur. During defensive fire, my gun hit a stack of units (with other targets still available). A pop-up asked, do I want to leave residual firepower in hex or retain rate of fire. I decided, since more targets in range, lets shoot again. After making the proper selection, I was not allowed to fire at any additional targets (including the original hex where I could have left residual firepower).

Enjoying game so far, a little put off by the number of times I have to select and then re-select units - especially if it is the only counter in the hex.
