Unrealistic turn of events - assistance required

Post by undercovergeek »

Its April 42 and im playing a scenario 1 PBEM with a friend - i am guilty of prepping to attack Oz with the IJA and the KB, and many minions are off the coast of Perth however i have an awful feeling the Allied owned Kuriles are about to be used to launch an attack on Hokkaido

My opponent stripped the US CVs of bombers and 120 fighters are flying CAP over anything i can attack past Etoforu and beyond

any thoughts on holding back the US?

If the US CV's are in defensive only, fighter only mode, then get some surface BB Task Forces together and pummel him. No bombers, so he can't sink them from the air? Just in case though get some LR CAP squadrons to protect your TF's. Also, its way too early for him to attack Hokkaido. If he focuses resources there you will overwhelm him elsewhere, and you should also be able to prep some units for Etoforu and wipe him out in the Kuriles. The Allies don't realistically have the strength in early 1942... But don't let him distract you too much from your greater goals :)

To see the Allies invade the Kuriles in 42 should be every JFB's wish.[:D]

Although it seems dire now, the allies simply lack the Carrier strength to stay. You can, and will, naval bombard any base he takes removing lba from the Allied order of battle. If he foolishly decides to fight a CV battle this early you should crush him.

You can sneak ships and planes and subs behind his line of supply too. Iboats are absolute killers when you have naval search guiding them.

Don't try to panic react and throw forces at him piecemeal, but plan on a three month fight and totally crush him.

My thought processes as Allies is always what will happen 30 days after I invade when Japan has time to prepare a counter to what I did. Can I hold? Can I reinforce? In this situation, I don't think the Allies can reinforce, so it seems to be a one way mission of getting Japan's attention up North to allow the Allies to do something far away. A screenshot would help us give better responses.
