Command structure question

Post by carll11 »

So, if I add say a Jordanian Bdge. under a list of Egyptian bgde.s etc. in the oob, thats fine? They'll attack Israelis...? Not Egyptians too? lol

There is no 'Army' or higher(unified) command level to put them under like adding a FF Div/regt. unit to a US Corp. or Army in WF...

Hey Carl,

I know in the org editor you can place Egyptians under Jordanians and vice versa but you cannot place Israelis under same.

But when your constructing a scenario I think the side takes precedence.
You can have Jordanians under side A and Egyptians under side B and they will fight against each other I think.

However, a good question this is because I'm not sure what happens to the org file in that case??

Time for me to run a little experiment and see if it works!

As long as Egypt and Jordan are set to Side B, they should both fight the Israeli's and not each other.

Thank you Ivan and Jason.

I am not sure how you mean 'set to side B', in the oob/org chart.

it has the OOB list, ex; southern command- which is Israeli-

-then it just has a list under ( not in)southern command of Egyptian mech bdge.s and divisions. under those I added a Jord. bdge. will the Jord play then as side B because they are underneath( or below) the Egyptian units?

thank you god!!!

I meant Jason[&o]

conversely IF I put the Jordanians on top of southern command, then had the Egyptians below southern command, the Jordanians would fight as...side A?

thx for your input Ivan!

I am glad we cleared that up.

I am about to start the scn. anyway, and would have found out pretty quick but I only saved( separately) my work in progress after I had placed all of the Israelis, I would have had to start all over with the egytp. jord. placement...[>:]

You would have to set Jordan as Side A in the scenario editor, I believe.

Scenario Editor

From the top menu -- Scenario -- Sides Dialog -- Move 25 Jordan to Side A.

Glad it is sorted out.

I had the Jordanians inside the Egyptian higher unit in the org file and both Jordanians and Israelis set to side A in scenario, Egyptians to side B and it worked!
But I'll follow Jason's lead and pull them out of the Egyptian org as a stand alone.

Good luck with your scenario Carl! Let us know how it turns out.

I believe you will find it under:

Options -- Initial View -- choose your preference.
