I just dug up EDBTR again, and want to play it again...
(after about a 3 year break)

As far as I can tell from these forums, I need:

1) The game
2) The 1.02 patch
3) and whatever the latest forum update/editor is... (what is the most current version?)
(and where do I get it...?)

Am I missing anything...??

In Scenarios and Modding the first thread on the "editor". I suggest you read right through it. You will pick up a lot of info there and AlterEgo's game fixes.

In the same section, suggest Message Reader, Focke-Wulf Mods, Light Bombers Ground Attack(some people don't like it) and check out the map mods.

Just in case you not founded it. Install it after game -> patch1.02. I suggest you to read this thread tm.asp?m=3873362&mpage=1&key= , so you can make a better idea on how it is/how it work. If you installed it correctly you must see this in the bottom left of the main game screen:





The other mods suggested by warshipbuilder (except message reader, but if I remember well you don't "need it" if you have AlterEgo patch/editor installed) are good, but not really needed for play, they're mods if you look for something different, expecially Focke-Wulf Mod that have a big impact in the airframe/engine production.
