Cannot move more than one hex?

Delete, fixed, mouse needed replacing .... consigned to the Rottweiler for chewing!

I have just bought the game and am playing the tutorial. Have followed the guidelines in the manual for this tutorial but have struck a problem/bug. In the movement phase I select the unit on the map, then select it in the unit panel, the hexes it can move to are marked with white dots correctly (just like in the manual)but then when I right click on a hex with a white dot the unit doesn't move??? I can move all units one hex but not out to where they are supposed to be able to move! Yes, I have normal movement selected, not assault. Does anyone know what is wrong here??? Appreciate any help, really want to play this.

Maybe I misunderstand the situation but just in case,

The white dots you see may be the effective firing range (hexes you can move to will have the hexsides highlighted in white, or red if it is the last square you have mf enough to move to)

Move one hex and the next hexes you can move too (if mf) will be displayed. It is kind of a pain that you can only move one hex at a time, probably set up that way in case enemy units have the chance to fire at your moving unit.
