The sinking of BB Revenge makes another change to the most valued ship standings. Strangely it is not Revenge that turns up on the list.

For something a little different - the outer limits of the empire. I doubt it will get much larger as the time for the Allied fightback must not be far away anymore. Still it is far larger than I had intended since the India adventure was never part of my original planning.

This game is about either IJ AV or holding out until 1946. The further the IJ expand the more territory that must be defended.
I am becoming more assured every AAR that there is a certain level of expansion and no more that is defendable and will last until 1946.
It is very tempting but when the Allies begin to accumulate stuff .. some inner line will need to be defended and resources have been spent that you will in the future need.

RE: 31 August 1942
IJ AV is such a tempting target a present. I have almost caught up to the live action and am now about 2 weeks behind. The points difference is sitting around 4.1 to 1. Still just over 3 months to go and such a fine line between maintaining 4+ or going under. I'm inclined to go for it as I am so close but it will only take a well executed move from Todd to see that goal evaporate.
My mind is indeed turning more and more to the line that will need to be defended. I have the allies bottled up for time being in India but that cannot last.. I know that. Whilst Todd down plays his position I have the whole of a mostly untouched USN to contend with a some point. Todd has let on that he has a do or die operation called SNAFU. It could be true but it may just be simple deception. Todd is wary of the SL restrictions on the atolls and the like and I believe that is shaping his plans. In our last game Todd was prepared to build a very large hammer and then swing it. This time I believe he is considering how to negotiate SL when he attacks. Then again he could go straight for the HI... he has hinted at that. A low possibility but something I have been considering and preparing for nonetheless.
