Campaign question.

Post by stormbringer3 »

The product info page mentions 3 linked campaigns. What features do they bring? In some games units gain combat stats, equipment upgrades, you get to buy more replacememts depending on victory level etc.
Thanks for any info.

Good day.

Linked Campaigns follow a "Core" Unit along a series of scripted (designed) scenarios that will either take you to victory or defeat. The three Linked Campaigns tell very different stories. One as an Israeli tank battalion commander in the Sinai, another as a commander overseeing UK forces in the Radfan and the last as a Syrian tank commander in the Golan.

The Core Unit will suffer losses and those losses carry forward throughout the battles.

In some cases, you will be offered Strength Points at the start of the scenario to reinforce your reduced troops. Not all cases, of course, so you have to watch your losses.

Your units will gain experience. Although, with the short nature of the included Linked Campaigns, the experience gained won't be of much value. In longer campaigns, units with lots of experience will eventually gain a higher morale.

Also, with the short nature of the three Linked Campaigns, you won't see equipment upgrades. For longer campaigns, it is possible to see equipment upgrades if the designer has included them. I am slowly working on a long French/Algerian LCG that will include this feature. This could be in the form of new units, or improved units (Rifle Class B turning into Rifle Class A and the improved stats to go with it).

Thank you for the quick reply. When you mention longer campaigns, are there any in the game as of now? My preference in a game is usually a campaign over a scenario.
Thanks again.

The existing campaigns are around 10 scenarios long. Plus or minus, depending how well or poorly you do.

The Suez Campaign is the longest one, depending on how you play, with up to 14 scenarios along a certain path.

See below.

Again, thanks for the information. I've been following this game for awhile and I've noticed that the support for it is excellent!
