Changing from Matrix install to Steam

Post by Wiz33 »

Can you change the regular Matrix install to a steam install by entering your product code in steam?

If you bought it from Matrix, you can redeem your Matrix serial number for a Steam key and install the Steam version.

Thanks, I just read the pinned steam redeem message. It said that if I have Northern Inferno. I can just enter that into Steam. Does that install the full game so I don't have to do the redeem the Command serial then enter the Northern Inferno code?

Also, can I just move the current installed folder into the steamapps folder or do I have to do a new install?

Thanks for all the help.

No, you can't just move the folder; Steam needs to do some initialization of its own files.
The NI key will only enable the the NI portion of the game from memory if the Steam CMANO is not present.

Got it thanks. I ended up redeeming a Steam code for Command and then got both of them installed again via steam and things seems to be working fine. Thanks.
