In the Far East Red Army forces continued to pound away at the Japanese, however the defense is stiffening. Still we made progress.
On the European front we were able to attack in three places and one attack paid off with a breakthrough to an airfield. We hope this blow to the Luftwaffe will throw sand in the gears of the German war machine.

British/French turn
Good and bad news, our attack on Nantes failed, with British troops being forced to retreat due to German counterattacks. However, the Germans lost about 70 aircraft to flak in their offensive. RAF units also launched attacks against advancing German units with good results. While the Luftwaffe intercepted the attacks, we had about 1:1 loss ration and the Italian artillery suffered moderate losses (about 200 artillery pieces-10SFT). In the Far East our subs took losses to the IJN, and the N1K2 in Bangkok shot down more Spitifires.

The Eastern Front took a catastrophic turn with more than half the strength of the Luftwaffe lost in a single month (Another oddity of ATG the air types are the easiest units to retreat takes a hour or less to empty a airbase but they never retreat[&:]) So this may be the turning point.
No gains were made some territory won back from the Soviet offensive, and the gates of Stalingrad reached putting the city within artillery range.
The Italians took Tangiers and are now in the Western part of French North Africa.

The USA has imposed severe restrictions on trade with us. Since I cannot even supply my current forces without that trade I see no reasons to continue the fight.

Not a problem Larry I was hoping that you were announcing that you were surrendering next turn, if its done let it lie, you seem to have walked into a tsunami of Soviet and Chinese sorry about that, the Soviets historically feared such a attack by the Japanese perhaps their fears were unfounded.

There are already small Chinese contingents operating in Red Army Uniforms. We might have more Chinese forces joining the battle for Europe.
America is in the war now. It was the USA's firm stance on sanctions that brought on the surrender. The world awaits the actions of the Americans.

sorry to read that Larry wants to surrender and drop out. It was not my intention to step in and create a situation where Larry is sqeezed out or at least thinks it does not make sense to continue.
My idea was to look for an alliance with Western Allies (GB, France) as I noticed they had been defeated on the European continent with only British islands left. This alliance should include the support of GB in East Asia. For USA it is always a good idea to keep Japan from getting too powerful. Thats why I played the supply restriction card. With Japan holding the two supply centers at Borneo I thought the Japanese were in good shape.
I have to admit that I did not read the posts here carefully. I was busy in a club I joined some months ago where I played Wars of Napoleon. We had some trouble in the WON game and together with two other players I left the game and even the club now. This trouble and the time consuming WON game had kept me busy and I disregarded the posts here. So I was not aware of the situation.
Looks like USA is able to join war now. It is obvious that USA will attack China. It was my intention anyway. But hte idea behind it was to support Britain and strengthen its position in Far East. With Japan being in a bad situation it is even more important that USA engages in East Asia.
If it is ok for Larry and all of you I would prefer to see Larry playing on. As I played the supply restriction card it is active now. But Larry and I will find a way to help Japan to stand the attacks of China and SU. For the players of China and SU it will make no big difference whether Japan stays in or surrenders. In case Japanese surrender would be kept up it is an alarming sign for USA anyway and of course this would cause a DoW against China.
Sorry to have caused this situation. I will write a message for Larry and apologize for the mistake I made that had this negative effect for him.

I think you will find that it was a military decision based on the situation on the mainland, the Soviets and Chinese had chased the Japanese of the Mainland and the British had likewise blocked Japanese expansion by sea, and the last I saw there were Spitfires over Japan.
I think Larry did have a deal with the USA to keep him supplied with oil as a US curb on China and USSR power, to keep the Japanese in the game but not a threat to the USA.
Not to worry or apologise all you now have to do is beat the European Axis.

Peace is very close, it depends only on the USA to end this war. After the surrender of Japan, British troops entered Bangkok while China is moving to recover lost territories. RAF achieved (for now) complete air superioity over Northern France, and Le-Havre is being reinforced with tanks. More units are being sent to Egypt for the decisiva battle against Italy. Negotiations are being made with USA, and hopefully, they will be brought to the antifascist coalition.

Guess it is too late. China can occupy all the territory on the continent that was held by Japan. Then China will have got back all lost territory.
USA has no troop transport at Philipinnes and not even some cargo ships to send units to Hongkong, Hang Chow and other cities. No way to stop China from winning.

Retaking all continental territories is necessary, but not enough, if China wants to win. It depends on objectives chosen.

The Germans turn north, as illustrated in the attached map there is a huge Bulge in the German Front running from Danzig to Kiev, the result of the Germans preferring a Army group South broad front push, meat grinder style approach, leaving army Group North holding only. This has left the Soviets just 300 miles from Berlin, a state of affairs that has been uncomfortable for the Germans but unavoidable.
The Italians attempt a assault on Casablanca the French hold on and the Italians prepare another attempt in May.
More Italians deploy to France to Bolster the front against the British that is now developing in Northern France a sore that only grows.

The Soviet Union is disappointed in the United States and its decision to make war on the Allied powers.
The Red Army in Europe made a couple of attacks, and reinforced the lines, while drawing troops from the Far East. The Germans are very near Moscow and have demonstrated that they can take any give hex. We have run out of space.
