Fighters intercepting after airstrike mission

Hi, if understand well, i can order my fighter squadron an airstrike mission, and if they dont find any resistance (they arent intercepted and no flaks), they remain at 100% readiness and can conduct interception in opponents turns? So i can use them in offense and defense in the same turn?

Yes that's right, as long as you have changed the interception from NON to 25% 50% or 75% that is the percentage of casualties you are willing sustain and of course if you have enough fuel left for defensive operations, if you end your turn with zero Oil/Fuel then no defensive air operations can be made, and of course defensive air cover is only 50% of maximum range
