2.0.11.3 Open Beta Released!!!

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Got it! [:)] [&o]

Notice the file size is quite a bit smaller than 11.2. Have you disabled anything??

Capn, did a little test at Time to Dance. Looked very good and solid. I only noticed two things on my side. Control+A not working anymore and the vehicles engine sound (during movement) as well are muted. Have you noticed that before? I only replaced the exe file, I am using Steam version. I have backed up the previous exe just in case. Best.

obs: I have reverted back to 11.2, the game got very slow as well. I think I will wait for the steam version.

Rincovsk, thanks for the report. Did verify the odd loss of Ctrl+A, sounds are working on my end, check the FX tab to see if they are on and you can also check the Player Game Settings to see if the Unit Sound FX slider is set to zero (or very low).

As for the very slow, what scenario and what was going on at the time? It is a debug build, but it should be playing like it did in 11.2/11.1 since those where similar.

Thanks.

We'll get a fix going for CTRL+A. Not sure what we would have touched to break it, but that is the fun of coding complex simulations. [X(]

I'm getting some funny happenings on moving units.

A group of units, say x5 platoons in a Company, all ordered to Hasty move along a road with no enemy in sight and suddenly one of the units starts moving into a hex, moving back to the hex it just came from, moving forward again etc.

Doing a little dance like a bee entering a hive.

I've had x4 units do this now. I'm playing the Belgian scenario as Belgique.

Battlerbritain, do you have a save game that shows this odd movement?

Yes, I've got a Save game with it. Just can't attach the darn thing to this forum as it's >1Mb even when zipped.

Ping me offline?

Update: I'll try pinging Jim Snyder at the OTS email address.

Update 2: email with attachment sent to Jim. Check Leo1 unit 3/A/4RL.

One other 'bug' I'd like to report:
About 20+ popup prompts a turn saying that 'The enemy HQ has been located at hex 4320'.

Does get rather annoying and slows the game down.

Got the file and see both issues in the save. Elevating the issues to Rob to look at. The movement plot thing is bizarre.

Capn, the sound thing and slow game effect dissapeared, might had being something with my PC. Reboot and problem solved. It is still a little bit slower for the counters movement, just slightly I noticed, nothing serious. ControlA still missing and I have also noticed the odd units movement back and forward for some as pointed out by battlerbritain. Playing Time to Dance with soviets.Thank you for your care and support. Best.

The ctrl-A is fixed for the next beta update. The movement thing is new and strange, but we will figure it out.

Rob took down the movement pathing bug that was causing some units to dance back and forth in certain pathing situations and he also fixed the upper right info panel to show longer names better. Next up, the flood of HQ located messages in a turn. Hopefully we can turn out a 11.4 during the week to cover these latest items and some map FP9 fixes we ran across this weekend.

More info later. Need to eat and then update the website this evening. No rest for the wicked or game designers. Not sure I like that correlation. [:D]

Glad to see continued progress - shame I can't enjoy it in the same measure as before, with life events keeping me away [:(]
Still, I'll provide whatever feedback I can [;)]

Stimpak, you have to deal with real life first. Trust us, we all get that. We will be here when things calm down. Good luck.
