It was a very slow day in the war.

The Japanese launched several airstrikes in China and one in Burma. Two Japanese aircraft were damaged in exchange for a hand full of Allied ground force casualties.

Not sure that is true. Disregard for a moment the disablements - the Japanese can recover them if they have supply. Destroyed squads were nearly equal and the forts were reduced to 2. The allies lost permanently a greater proportion of their total AV than the Japanese did. If they reinforce or take time to recover their disablements, Columbo is doomed.

Someone pointed out in their AAR a while back that Columbo is a poor place to try and hold Ceylon because it is clear terrain. Trincomalee is a much better spot for a desperate defence.

I missed the diminished fort....good point on the terrain also. You are likely right about being doomed. With available air transport it would be throwing good after bad.

I concur.

Ceylon will fall.

I considered sending III India Corps to make III (three) amphibious landings at Jaffna, Trincomalee, and Koggala to capture El Lobo's supply; and then trap and destroy his II (two) Infantry Divisions and II (two) Infantry Regiments.

Only II (two) minor problems with the above consideration:

1. Japanese aircraft and Japanese combat ships sinking III India Corps.
2. El Lobo would just land more troops and trap more Allied units on Ceylon with their eventual elimination.

On a bright note: Colombo has 42,000 supply.

Other than the combat shown below, the only action were several Japanese airstrikes in China. About half of the Japanese airstrikes in China were completely unsuccessful. The other half, perhaps 3 or 4, the Allied suffered a total of around 150 casualties.

There is a tad over 42,000 supply at Colombo.

El Lobo does not like taking losses. I suspect that he will soon be landing another infantry division.

El Lobo continues to launch airstrikes against Akyab and Kalemyo in Burma resulting in minimal Allied casualties and damage to Japanese aircraft. The Japanese fair better in China with airstrikes, but not much better.

I am somewhat saddened to advise that the Cuttlefish will soon withdraw from the Pacific Theater of War. It was fun having the Cuttlefish. The submarine sank three or four Japanese transports and drove El Lobo nuts trying to track down and destroy the Cuttlefish.

The Allies launched airstrikes against Bathurst Island and Colombo. Bathurst Island was a disaster. Colombo was somewhat successful.

I can't be bothered using Hudsons for any type of bombing mission. Even where no CAP they are useless. I use them solely for search, recon, ASW or training.

I have found Hudsons to be effective bombing troops in open terrain. Lots of that in Oz and most of India. Some in China and Burma.
