Given that every base shown on the "trail" there has a supply ! attached to it (and all of the ones over by Shanghai!! - or are those from garrisons?), it's just not going to happen unless you increase supplies in all of China.

Bingo!

We trade 13 Oscars for 11 Corsairs plus SBDs. - a good deal in my book. Considering my Oscars were lost making a kamikaze attack (they all missed the lousy destroyers despite skill 70), it was an even better trade.

The big picture...

Only two artillery bombardments: Osaka and the roadblock to the north. Allied guns destroyed for no loss -- except supply.

Tsu has 47 units and more moving there. I suspect he is loading for an invasion.[X(]

A new month! The 120 day to game end countdown will begin now. Can I make it? The VP ratio stands at 2.079 to 1; 30 days previously it was 2.047 to 1. But the Allies are definitely aiming for the jugular with another amphibious invasion of Honshu.[X(]

Allies continue to bomb my troops, clear mines all on the northwestern half of Honshu. CD guns probably destroy two Allied minesweepers plus something hit some mines.

I tried to retire my fighters to safety this turn, and did, to get them a day or two of rest. I railed all the damaged fighters to Ominato two days ago. They arrived yesterday and repaired today. All but 15 planes were damaged...so a great job ground crews.[:)]

The lower SR planes really shine in the kind of fighting I by necessity am forced to do.

I think it is very unlikely the Allies will land at Tsushima. Nasty terrain, wonderful CD guns make it a tough choice.

Shimoneski, Kurume, Nagasaki are all superior invasion spots given their open ground.

However, I did fly in some 20mm AA and barges landed some Paratroopers to bolster the islands defense.

You're right, with the allies on the ground in the Home Islands you need SR1 fighters ... Tony/Oscar/A6M ... just no real choice.

I am still forming up infantry divisions. A job with no end.

I really like the extra information in the box below. Adds flavor.

Anyhow, this division will go and either hold Kukong, or even move up north to defend against a Chinese attack in the mountains.

It is an airmobile division, although my transports are definitely a dwindling resource, and that always makes a unit a little more handy.

Against Chinese, in the mountains or jungle rough terrain, and away from naval bombardments the division can probably put up a little bit of a fight.

Pax, at this point, I will take any fighter with cannons. I have even used A6M2s. Anything with cannons.[:D]

It is official, I am in a world of hurt when Stella's get put on frontline ASW work.

Think of them as Petes. I could even put them on a carrier if push comes to shove. Look at the upgrade path.

If these 7 planes can sink one submarine,or help sink one, then they are worth it.

Really good pilots in them, or transferring into them.

Finished my turn, and I am moving troops and equipment all over Honshu.

Giving the day off to the battered air transports. Trying to reorganize and repair them.

Sending four PB (14Knots) to Nagasaki, where I have established a decent CAP. If they survive till tomorrow, I will use them to fast transport the heavy equipment from Fusan back to Nagasaki. Kind of neat that they can traverse the sub infested waters to Nagasaki as an ASW taskforce, and then switch over to a fast transport unit on the morrow. I have plenty of fuel for them, so no worries there.

I am going to attempt a full speed run from Shanghai with the pitiful remains of the 1st and 2nd Tank Divisions. If they make it to Honshu, they can start the rebuilding process.

I ramped up ASW search, night, day, and have three hunter killers working the waters from Shanghai east to Honshu. Absolutely crawling with the buggers. I set the bridge of fire and damaged another yesterday. So, I am hoping with the ramped up detection to snare a few kills.

I left my two remaining BBs in Shanghai, were hopefully the mechanics and crews can reduce some system damage. The Tone is down to her last 2 points of system damage and soon she will be heading to Shimoneski to tangle with Fletchers or act as a naval aerial attack magnet.

A few other traps set and we are off for another great day, as long as there is no invasion. From the unit count, I don't think one is likely.

Allies are intent on hunting down and killing my planes on the ground.

Waste of good bombers I think.

We destroy 2 more minesweepers...today.

Important to note the three E's south of Nagoya. They started the day at Yokohama, with no orders, but normal, normal.

They fled under their own orders, and ended up here.

Normally, when I give orders for the newly built E's to flee Yokohama, they end up sunk by destroyers one hex away.

But under their own initiative they managed to get out safely. Now they are dispersing and fleeing in three different directions under full speed. Maybe something will get away.

I have set more units to stockpile; pretty much working on replacements for ART and ARM.

Moving the Tone and a Matsu to Fusan, I hope they make it - a lot depends upon how many sub combats they have.

Dispersing three Es that fled Yokohama yesterday. Hopefully something can get away.

Battleships fixed a point of system damage at Shanghai, and our now fleeing along the coast to Tienstin.

A dangerous turn..

I have, maybe had depending upon the latest turn, 1 CV, 2 BB, 1 CA, 2 CL. For the most part I have done a very poor job in expending my warships.

But I have learned a lot![;)]

Our E hunter killers are doing a great job on the plethora of Allied submarines in coastal waters. It seems like we are killing a submarine or two a day. Happy days.
