Hotspur is sunk...

Off San Francisco....this is a little bold, but so far nothing is spotted by either side. I am looking to ambush one of those nasty 4 CL/6 DD task force Jocke has running around.

I just moved in several task forces into Coal Harbor and Aliford Bay. They will retire in a day.

TF Hiryu is well covered by land based air (float and fixed) search.

The Tone is set to pretty much be a coward and flee at any potential sightings.

The Iboats provide a little extra scouting.

I am seriously tempted to run the Tone into San Francisco harbor ala Ironman Nasty Nasty! What a feat of daring do that would be!!!!

These two Chinese corps put up a great fight against the Guards Tank Division, so I have decided to encircle and kill them to the last man.

Aren't we talking major shore batteries in SF? [&:][:-]

We will just think positive thoughts.[:D]

Actually, I have seen the AI do it in Ironman Nasty Nasty numerous times and never get dinged, by either mines or the shore battery.

I don't see how I could get close enough without being spotted, but boy would it be classic.

This cracked me up for some reason. All I can do is add a John 3rd style, "Banzai!"

Here are the pilots that swept Comilla two days ago, and yesterday they escorted the Betty strike against the hapless Hotspur.

A little tired, so I will stand them down.

They destroyed 20 Allied fighters over Comilla for a loss of 5 in A2A and 1 to ops. These are the kind of pilots you want to be sweeping with, but watch plane and pilot fatigue. And morale, that can bounce around quite a bit.

That they have so few kills is testimony to the Allies not flying CAP unless forced to -- like my 1-2 whammy at Comilla. Hitting the tanks and then the LRCAP.

The last thing I want is their fighting to be contagious among the other Chinese units. An example must be made!

Ok, Obvert, I have taken this to be a challenge. Let us see what happens tomorrow, and then if not spotted, we are entering San Francisco harbor, and we will make a cruise around Alcatraz.

2nd Week of November, 1942

Remember that CM naval search from Port Moresby spotted the other day, near Palm Island. Well, they disappeared from search, so a blind attack on the port facility at Palm bears some fruit.

Love sinking those Dutch mine layers.
