witpqs-

Okinawa is sure looking good. Only two more Japanese bases to take.

Best Regards,

-Terry
?? [&:]
I see lots of Japanese bases on the map - which two do you refer to?

BBfanboy-

I only see two Japanese bases left on Okinawa; one already under siege by the Allies.

Best Regards,

-Terry
I see - you mean the entire group of islands around Okinawa - the latter is a single island with only two bases Naha and Nago (already taken). Thus my confusion about which bases.

3,332 AV at Canton now. The troops need to rest, but disruption is moderate rather than sky high: highest among the infantry is 32%, highest among the armor is 39%. Again (still) the attack bombers take it on the chin, mostly the A-20 groups. Those will switch to a target in the mountains to get a break from Canton flak. The casualty exchange ratio at Canton was very good and I think just a few attacks will do it, especially with reductions in fortifications. A combat engineer regiment and a combat engineer battalion are still on the way, so they will provide an infusion of engineers if those already present get hammered.

At least one more day of rest required at Singapore, with 3,657 AV. Over at Palembang the troops have a little more disruption than desired, but will attack tomorrow. More air strikes on the ghost ships at Cocos Islands, and tonight Emerald will bombard.

A good start at Davao, too.

Our subs <REDACTED> (Yes, still!)

The troops at Canton are ready for round 2 with 3,408 AV. All assigned units are now at Kukong so the second attack there is ordered. Two Helen raids struck at our units in the woods west of Hengyang but this time a number of P-47D2 were there to greet them. The first raid was savaged and the second raid paid a toll. See air losses below.

The troops at Singapore will also attack tomorrow with 3,705 AV in the hex, but 3 divisions will not attack. They are slightly high in disruption and will be held back to attack the following day when other divisions rest. Let's see how that goes!

Palembang will soon be pumping oil for the Allies again!

The landing at Legaspi will take place tomorrow, and our invasion fleet has been sighted.

The troops at Amami Oshima are ready and will attack after a full on naval bombardment sequence. The air strikes will also continue, but the defenders are hurting the raids, probably helped by the terrain.

At Kagi a surprise as our 3 divisions do catch up today.

Obviously they could not attack today but they will tomorrow. The 124th Cav Rgt moved fast enough to block exit from Hengchun, perhaps aided by a last minute naval bombardment.

One question on your conquest of Truk. Over the course of the battle even though you achieved 1:1 or 1:2 odds & killed off a lot of squads, in follow on battles many times his defending troops actually increased in both size and AV. Did you ever find out if he was moving in reinforcements, or was it just replacements turned on? It sure took a lot of butt kicking to kick him off.

Nice game, btw [;)]
