Thank you. Prepare for German counter-counter attack!

For the Chinese Communists there is a real crisis brewing. You may even call it a China Crisis.

And that post was of course just a rubbish excuse to post this quite brilliant song

The unmistakably Gallic lines of the Duquesne-class heavy cruiser Tourville, on her way back from sinking some German merchant shipping in the Baltic.

Quite. But that is why I alluded to the fact its "gamey" in the Allied AAR thread. The French have nothing to lose by placing suicide ships in the Baltic. They will soon be "dead" anyway. If they are lucky enough to take a convoy opponent or two before the axe falls then happy days!

There is a decent chance that the French cruisers will become Free French after Vichy is installed.

Edit: That is if the French player send them to the right ports before Vichy is installed.

I joined the tradition of "entering the wrong thread". Maybe we should begin a club? [;)]

I am sorry about the intrusion. [:(] I realized my mistake at once and no information gained.

The French surface combat ships (SCS) are more valuable than their subs in the duties that they can perform and in cost as well. The French subs have decreasing value as the war goes on...and that's why you put French subs and not French SCS's into the Baltic.

To each his own however...

Sure, but then the French can never guarantee they will get the combined or naval moves that will allow that to happen. Anyway:

a) Even if not used in the Baltic then I would try and use them in the Mediterranean (any Italian taken down with them is a plus) b) Personally I find the French subs are useful for threatening the Italian convoys.

But at the end of the jour I feel vindicated in the use of the cruisers in this game in the Baltic - and as the grand fromage of the French nation in this game that is all that matters [:D]

Free French SUBs are very useful, as is the Dutch SUB, against the Japanese. But as Orm notes, quite tricky to get them to Equatorial Africa. I tend to park the Algerie there and focus on moving the TRS efficiently with any spare Combined impulse for the French. I like raiding the Baltic in various ways, in case Winston is watching my particular game.

Hi Warspite1,

Good to connect with you online.

I don't think there will be any play tonight. Mayhemizer has been away on business and I've been looking after a poorly dog so we haven't yet been able to co-ordinate our plans.

S/O 39 Axis 11

No DoW

No alignments

Germany & Italy Combined. Japan Land.

Germany sends 3 CP's to the Baltic. I decline the intercept as they are unlikely to be simply rebasing.

Italy sails a CA to Italian Coast. Does the French sub wish to intercept?

The French sub captain raises his periscope and catches a sight of the Italian CA (4-rolled).

The CA elects to fight through from the 1-box. It sails on blissfully unaware of the French subs presence (10 rolled).

How would the French like to use their surprise points?
