What is the DRM in this title?

I only use Windows as a console so I just re-image Windows whenever and re-download from Steam and Dropbox.

What is the DRM for Tigers on the Hunt?

Will a Steam version be released?

It's not on Steam. You get a serial number for it from Matrix.

What does that actually mean? For example what happens if I reinstall?

You type in the serial number again. You should have received it in your email or you can check the Matrix webpage: http://www.matrixgames.com/members/mygames.asp

There is no online activation for the serial number?

If the hardware of the machine changes is the code invalidated, like Windows? I used to have a game where you had to reregister it from one device before you could use it on another, and hardware changes like a GPU upgrade would also trigger this.

I have had a bad experience with certain forms of DRM and I just want to make sure this game's one actually works.

No online activation. Make an account in the members section, when u buy while logged into the member section its automatically registered to your account. Redownload at any time. Most people save the downloaded install file with the seriel number that way you can reinstall whenever without downloading again. Also if the game is on or gets on steam you get a free key. If you do ever need to redownload or get your key just sign into the members area yours game and seriels are there.

Also no worries about changing hardware. It's only tied to the Game installation itself on the harddrive.

Little disappointed to see that the download for the game disappears apparently. So hang on to your install file/folder I guess? I'm sure you can request the download link again, but what's the point of removing the download link from our order page?

No idea but there must be some reason. I haven't checked out the Members club pages but otherwise I think Matrix would assist in getting the download link.

The downloads link for Tigers on the Hunt is in my 'My Orders' page, but some of the other games do not show up there. Odd. And the 'Plimus - Find My Order' ink to goes to a 404 – Page Not Found on the BlueSnap website.
