Looking at the file you've sent, most units can use the saved oil. 3 CP's in Sierra Leone and a CP in Cape Town don't seem to be able to. I can't see why this would be. They can clearly trace a supply path but maybe it's something to do with the 5 units max per oil resource.

Edit: Picture added with the London oil used to reorganise 10 ships.

If you compare your picture with the one I sent you will see that I did not have the London, and Birmingham, oil available for reorganization.

Without wishing to convey the merest hint of displeasure at version 3 of the revised Allied Only AAR title, does it perhaps have the slight disadvantage that if taken literally nobody else will view it either?
warspite1

Well of 238 posts 17 are non Orm and Warspite - and brian brian makes up about 90% of them. So I don't think it will make a huge difference.

The only reason we have 2,200 hits is because I keep opening and closing the thread continuously to make it look like we have interesting things to say......

Fair enough. It's a great title.

The picture you sent looked like you had the first CP selected, which is one at Sierra Leone.

When I recreate that, I get the following. No Birmingham or London oil showing as available.

However, changing the selection to the CA Australia shows the Birmingham and London oil could be used to reorganise that unit. All in all, it was the 3 CP's at Sierra Leone and 1 CP at Cape Town that didn't show the London and Birmingham oils as available.

Japan saves one oil from NEI at Truk

I know it seems intuitive that this would be a good place to put some oil - what if Nagumo had hit the tank farm at Pearl with or without a 3rd wave ???

I also used to put oil in certain Major Ports when I started with the oil rules, but it would be a rare occasion when this would be handy, as a disorganized naval unit has to trace to an oil resource AND a valid supply source (Home Country city) to re-organize.

If Truk can't trace a path to a Japanese city, having oil there won't help anything, so one might as well save oil in Japan.

This is only correct if you play with "isolated reorganization limits" and we do not do that for a very simple reason. That option is not available for play. Without that option, it is enough for a oil dependant unit to be able to trace to a oil recourse.

Phase: End of Turn

French

The French fleet return to Marseille (and are disorganised) except:
- two organised cruisers in Syria
- the Force du Raide (3/4 disorganised that remains in the Western Med).
- the 1st Cruiser Squadron remains in the Baltic (disorganised).

The French use their oil to re-organise the two HQ and the LeO bomber.

The French produce a MIL in Senegal and 2 x INF
They save an Oil in Syria

The French have one fighter to place on the map - other than the Senegalese MIL.

Soviets

The Soviets re-organise 2 x bombers
The Soviets produce a GARR, 2 x INF and they save a build point in Minsk
They don't save any oil? [TBC]

Chinese Communists

The Chinese Communists produce 2 x MIL

The MIL are placed on the map this turn

Some nations didn't reorganize all their units for one reason or another.

Here is USSR.
