Over the Canal SCN problem

Post by kolc »

Russians can't seem to cross the canal bridge for some reason. Appears I am the only one having this problem though.

When you select your units to move, do you see any white outlined hexes?

Not on the bridge hex...other hexes yes and they are able to move to those hexes. They are however able to move on the bridge during the Advance segment...but not the move segment. I tried different settings and uninstalled a mod I was using, but still the Russians don't want to move across the bridge. Others on the forums indicated they could not replicate the problem on their end so not sure if it has to do with any program I am running or not.

Are you able to move across a bridge in scenario 003 - Pershing on the Front?

Hmm, looks like some kind of file corruption. Have you tried reinstalling the game?

Yes I did that yesterday. But the problem persists. I did not delete the files that remained after I uninstalled the game however. The game files for the scns I downloaded did not delete when I uninstalled. So maybe I need to do a complete uninstall/delete?

I don't think that is necessary but an action to consider. As we think this has to do with your computer could you check your graphics driver version to see if you got the latest version?

You have a very old graphics driver kolc. Check your manufacturers website for new drivers. If you have problem locating the correct driver get back here and I'll help you

If you know your HP Lap Top model write it in a post and I'll take a look otherwise make DxDiag file and post it following Zakbloods excellent help how to do it:

How to get a DxDiag report file:

1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8 )
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments (zip) rather than pasted into the body of the post

Okay the Driver version you have seems to be the last version HP released for your Laptop. You can do either of the following.

1. Wait for the Update 1 that will be released in the middle of the week and see if the small graphic changes Peter has made does it for you as well. (this is a long shot but the easiest)

2. Depending on your Windows Version you could go to Windows Update and check the Optional Updates for Intel updates

3. It looks like Intel is no longer supporting your processor but you could try these solutions from the Intel Community or check the Community yorself:

Thanks for the advice and help. My wife has been telling me its time for a new lap top (and I know it is) but its hard to convince my wallet but....

I will wait first for the update...if that doesn't work I will be content to play the non-bridge scenarios for now until I upgrade my lap top....it will be fun to tell my wife the tipping point was my war games [:D]
