Roger - even though the 'main spearhead' is only just about to pass Canton and take on Hong Kong, that house of cards or domino style collapse you talked about is well under way. The flanking force alone is proving strong enough to undermine the structure of the Empire's defense in China. Certainly if Okinawa and Formosa were Imperial fortresses the situation would be somewhat different without threat of amphibious operations beyond those points. But still, almost all areas in contact are either withdrawing or being broken through.

It looks like Imperial units in the Chungking plain are angling to make redoubts at Chungking and Chengtu so as to delay re-spawning of Chinese Army units as long as possible.

No idea how many remain. Allied ASW, coupled with very strong search coverage, has made life short for IJN subs that deploy. Most recent use was in the Okinawa campaign where subs carried out numerous attacks and at least one mining mission. Subs surged in multi-sub TF (2 to 4 per TF, I think), several TF at once.

How to use Iboats late game is a worthy topic of discussion for any JFB.

I have my ideas and are testing them; but I do think they can be used for more than Allied victory points.[:)]

In that campaign he got a few hits on Allied warships, several cruisers as I recall and maybe at least one battleship early in the operation. I seem to recall one CA sunk.

Imperial fighters and death gliders, after a tactical day off, again hit the Lushai Bde leaving the unit at 86/99% TOE with 89% disruption. An IJA unit has made contact after moving from Pingsiang (just ahead of allied infantry) and presents great danger at this disruption level. Luckily the Bde has only 3 miles to travel on a primary road to cross the river into a wooded hex that should provide a great deal more cover. At Canton our forces are independently moving as fast as possible to cross the river and attack the vanquished enemy in the open, before they cross the next river into Hong Kong. The Indian 23rd Division (which arrived from the SE) will attack at Kweiyang tomorrow without waiting for Allied units coming from the west. Enemy units there are withdrawing and must be hit before they get away.

With the capture of Canton we get 77 Resources, 7 Heavy Industry, and 31 Light Industry. And more importantly, the Empire loses them.

Singapore is officially secured.

Have a turn now, I'll post one with the entry later when I finish up. Hong Kong will entail most of a 3,000 point swing plus the points for destroyed ground devices, so it will change again pretty quickly. Roughly 58k to 87k. A ways to go for 2 to 1!

I'll post 4E pools, too. They are good - still using some pre B-24J, and have plenty of B-24J in the pool. The new B-29(-25 I think??) is slowly replacing the old first edition model. Most of those squadrons had been mailed and were below strength to boot. And a number of B-29-25 squadrons have arrived fully equipped. I had to strip the Singapore/Java 4EB of good pilots for the B-29 groups.
