At Kweiyang the Imperials managed to slip away, so not much glory there. BUT - they won't next time, and it will be a river crossing shock attack, because an armoured car Rgt owns the road to the north. 50 Resources and 60 Daily Supply with Kweiyang. Most of all, the capture of Kweiyang provides a supply and movement route by road to the mountains of China, previously supplied only by air and the tortuous road through Paoshan. Capturing Pingsiang increases the isolation of Changsha, and Imperial troops are marching eastward, out of the city. 94 Resources taken with Pingsiang.

Letting the armor move fast enough to cross the river and attack in movement mode with no delay proved beautifully effective, destroying 779 devices! There are 74,000 troops in Hong Kong, but the majority of them just fled there under fire. Some units from Canton will join the armor tomorrow, but many will take two days (still recovering from combat). After that, all units will move to Hong Kong in move mode for either one or two days depending on how many miles are covered, then in combat mode for the crossing. The British and French battleships will bombard to support the crossing.

Formosa one step closer to total liberation.

I don't recall. I'll look at air losses as a clue next time I get a turn.

As far as the evenness of the air losses, of course the heavy operational losses of transports flying supplies into China is a partial factor, but the greatest factor is ground support & airfield suppression. Both 4EB and 2EB (and now F on ground strike duty) take much bigger losses when the Allies are on the offensive, and the offensive has been sustained for many months now. The Attack Bombers REALLY take losses when used at their intended altitudes, and so are frequently stood down to do 100% training of crew and replace air frames. Even when 'ready' their losses are so great it's best to horde them for the offensives that need them and that are important enough.

All the bombers from Malaya and Sumatra are now in China. The B-25C groups are helping in the mountain and middle areas while the P-40N5 and Vengeance will start hitting Hong Kong after tomorrow when the troops begin final movement. As predicted, many units made the rally point but a number will arrive tomorrow, then all will begin moving into Hong Kong. Hong Kong now recons with29 units, 82,340 troops, 422 guns, and 117 AFV.

There should have been a river-crossing shock attack to go along with the deliberate attack of the armour, but there was not. Tomorrow all except the armour will attack.

The army heading into Hong Kong made 23 miles today, exactly enough to make the river crossing tomorrow in move mode. Accordingly they will switch to combat mode and take either 2 or 3 more days to cross.

Armour on Luzon removes the rear-guard.

AV is 28, no fortifications. A CL TF will bombard tonight, and another CL TF will make a high speed run to do so. The CA TFs (from Daito Shoto) will take up station to bombard the day after. The battleships, both fast and old, will take up station to bombard Taihoku the day after tomorrow. Our troops there are well on the way to fully recovering disruption in time to attack then. The 124th will attempt to hold on. 4x CVE TF will send torpedo bombers on strikes to increase their air support.
