Game rules:
No 4e naval bombing below 10k
Sensible use of paratroopers
Pay full PP for units to cross national borders
No strategic bombing from or into China
Picket ships allowed if of the military type

Just noticed that MrKane started an AAR so I will keep one as well. I wanted an experienced player and I do believe that Tomasz is more then that.... This will be my fifth allied game, all of them ending in 1942.

First period will be about trying to preserve vital assets, limit losses and punch MrKane in the face if he makes a mistake..

Turn one is now completed, and just waiting on the replay / flip..

A few questions and concerns. Is this with Symon's air mods? Mr Kane knows how to use PDU-ON to get 46 planes in 44, and with the better stats this will be virtually unmanageable for an Allied player. Any thoughts on that?

Also, no strat bombing into or from China seems too much. I get the part about none in China, but from China goes against what was entirely possible and in fact used in the war. This essentially takes an entire theatre off the map in 44-45 for the Allies, as strat bombing is the one most important goal of the late game. It also means he can stack up on the other spots where strat bombing is possible and simply leave China less well defended. I see this as a massive balance problem post-43.

I believe DBB:C latest version includes Symon's air mods. I did give it some thought. The Japanese can afford to take heavy air losses so I'll have to be very methodical with the allied air assets. Total air superiority will not be possible to achieve but locally it should. The strongest Japanese fighters have high service ratings, so I'll be using that knowledge....

You might be right about this one. Then again, it might not be a big problem, since chances are that China will be either largely conquered or starving for supplies come '44... We'll see how it develops. I do realize that this house rule actually might affect MrKane's China strategy...

No main carrier strike... My guess is that MrKane wanted these bad boys hidden (and me guessing) for a bit.. I get lucky so even without dl I have an idea of where the fast carriers are...



First action in the Pacific: Re-organising search.. With my PBYs intact, I am able to get right on it...

You might be right about this one. Then again, it might not be a big problem, since chances are that China will be either largely conquered or starving for supplies come '44... We'll see how it develops. I do realize that this house rule actually might affect MrKane's China strategy...

Cool. Just thought I'd bring it up. China as a possibility for the Allies to use for strat bombing is still then something the Japanese have to prepare to defend. If he doesn't there are also a lot of high value bases to build up. Several with 100x Japanese VP modifiers, others at 50x/25x, and lots at 10x.

The only serious air combat is over Manila and Singapore. The USAAF does a decent job but the poor old buffaloes take it on the nose...

The objective for the RAF over Singapore will be to protect the area in order to get some fort building going..





About half way working through turn 2.. I'll finish it tomorrow or Tuesday...

Hi Mundy, not to sure yet. There is not that much of real value I absolutely need extracted. I would rather focus on getting some additional supply in place...

Turn 2 done and, as expected, the nagging feeling I forgot something important....

One thing that is new to me in this modification: No Australian divisions, just brigades without a parent unit, including 6th and 7th division...

No large surprises so far.. Shipping around Manila is attacked and mostly sunk. I doubt I'll get any useful support or cargo ships out... All the tankers are already gone

I forgot to rest the Clark Airfield fighters and 12 P40Bs are downed... We'll meet CAP with P40Es tommorow (highest patrolling at 25k, lowest at 10k)...

Singapore is quiet this turn. I am reactivating CAP in order to scare the bombers and get some forts up...

I've lost track of Hiryu, Soryu, Zuikaku and Shokaku... No trace, no attacks, no radio chatter... Scary shit...

Very quiet turn. Normal shipping losses around Manila and Ocean Island and Nauru are assaulted... More ships are spotted in the DEI.. The northern tip of New Guinea is under assault and I have to withdraw the often forgotten search planes there... A shame..

December 10: Mersing is on... I've got no surface assets ready to intercept (Allies are concentrating ships @ Soerabaja) but Torpedo bombers 30+ will hopefully be able to take a toll on the transports. Two squadrons of Buffaloes will fly esort, the others will LRCAP...





I doubt the move will be able to block off the move to Singapore, everything that is important is railing towards the city already (with screening troops deployed to delay the Japanese push a bit)

I've got around 25.000 supply incoming Singapore.. A couple of cargoes are lost, but I'll take it.. Akagi / Kaga might strike but I doubt MrKane will risk his valuable aircraft into the CAP shredder of Singapore....

I do not have a clue where the four modern IJN carriers are... I wouldn't be surprised they would pop up somewhere deep behind lines to try and catch some valuable shipping... Wouldn't they be better off helping expand in the Pacific?
