an idea for turrets and turretless tank destroyers

Post by bstarr »

It's been a while since I last played TOAW, but if I remember correctly armor was allowed
three shots while attacking and three while defending while anti tank guns were allowed
one shot while attacking and three while defending. Why not add a "Turretless" category to
armor (SPGs and german tank destroyers, etc) that reduces the number of shots allowed during
an attack to two - two shots during an attack and three while defending. This wouldn't
cripple SPGs, etc, unnecessarily, but it would make them more useful in defense,
where they get to pick their field of fire, than in offence where their
lack of a turret would give them slightly fewer opportunities to engage.

Just a suggestion. I upgraded to a new computer some time ago and haven't played TOAW since, so
I may have my game facts muddled. Looking forward to TOAW IV.
