[ANSWERED] v1.1 Official Release Installer Issue

Post by Kitchens Sink »

I found an issue (and a solution) when I just installed the newest v1.1 Official Release.

When I downloaded and ran the installer, I ended up with 2 root folders in my c:/Matrix Games folder. One was Command Modern Air Naval Operations (the new one), and the other was Command Wargame of the Year Edition (the old one).

When I clicked on my desktop Icon to start Command, the game started with the older version (v1.1 RC22, Build 823). When I tried to start directly from the c: drive new folder, I got an error (missing some temp file).

Solution: I copied all the files from the new folder into the old Command Wargame of the Year Edition, overwriting all duplicate files. Then, I clicked the Command icon on my desktop and v1.1 Build 825 came up (which I assume is the new Official Release.)

Just a heads up. Perhaps I did something wrong on the original install. P.S. The new version is working great!!

You should always browse to your previously installed path within the update installer. This goes for any update on any software you have on your pc, unless the update states otherwise. This prevents all sorts of issues. [:)]

Yes, an obvious issue of PEBCAK (Problem Exists Between Chair and Keyboard). But maybe my post will help others who made the same goof [:D]

Ever here of an ID-Ten-T error? I got caught by an old lady who needed her password changed. I told her the temporary password was ID-Ten-T (IDIOT). She said "hold while I wright it down". Then she said "are you trying to tell me something"?

Usually people just type it in while I give them the password. Not this lady, she had to write it down. I was snagged!!! LOL [:D]
