Attack is the opposite of success.
At least Finland is in the final. Against Canada.

I might watch some TV tomorrow evening...

Germany rebase Ju88 to Poland, Bf109 by 2 hexes in France and 2 bombers in East Prussia by few hexes.

Japs rebase Nav on Formosa to Canton and Ftr at Canton to Hanoi.

Turn does not end (roll 9).

And here is new weather.

No declarations of war.

Land: China
Combined: USSR, USA, CW
Naval: Free France

No Port Strikes.

CW a send a Hurricane to the 0 box if the Bay of Biscay.

CW send a TRS from Plymouth to Bay of Biscay and evacuate Wavell from Bayonne. RMS Queen Mary and RMS Queen Elizabeth sail from the North Sea to Bayonne where they disembark a militia. The liners were escorted by HMS Valiant and a couple of cruisers.

CW bombs Essen for no effect.

CW march into Benghazi, and move a territorial to Haifa.

USSR move; div to Cernauti, 5-3 in Persia one hex west, MECH to Zhukov, and AT to 53,54.

Communitst China move 3-3 Sian MIL to the hex northwest. Nationalist China move a few units one hex each, including the HQ.

No land combats.

USSR re-base Pe-2 to west of Cutatea-Alba, and Pe-8 to Cutatea-Alba.

CW rebase a bomber from Gibraltar to Malta, and a light bomber rebase to London.

No reorganization.

Turn ends on a 8 or less but since the die is a 10 the turn continues.

J/F 40 Axis 17

No DoW or alignments.

Germany and Japan, Combined. Italy, Land.

Japan sails SNLF to Hanoi and Imp Guards to Canton. They both should have gone to Hanoi but some fool of a staff officer had the transports steaming around in too high a sea-box in the China Sea. Having had the error of his ways pointed out to him, he won't be making that mistake again or indeed any others, ever.

Germany sends 2 sub wolf-packs to the North Atlantic 1-box.

One area for naval combat.

The subs come to periscope depth and take a peek.

ALARM!!! Crash dive. Destroyers bearing red 45 closing fast.

Searches Axis 4, Allies 2.

Allies have 5 surprise points.

Options

1. Avoid combat
2. Use all points to increase damage to D, 3A and take 2A in return
3. Use 2 points to increase damage to D, A and 2 points to reduce losses to NE.

How would the Royal Navy (and Honorary Polish additions) like to play this?

Well it looks like option 3 fits the bill in this scenario, if you please.

A spread of depth charges inflicts severe damage to one of the wolf-packs as they try and dive for safety.

However, they elude their pursuers and return to periscope depth for another try ....

The Little Bavarian Corporal extends his gracious invitation to the British Royal Navy to continue this particular difference of opinion as to who rules the waves. RSVP.

German subs will fight as long as possible. And if they find anything, they fire all torpedoes and try to collide after that...

It appears the only things being collided with may be the depth charges dropped by the RN.

Searches: Axis 7, Allies 1 gives 9 surprise points. Options:-

1. Avoid combat.
2. Increase damage to X, 2A. Take 2A in return.
3. Increase damage to 2D, 3A. No losses in return.
