Pelton Forum Ban Status

Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: The German-Soviet War 1941-1945 is a turn-based World War II strategy game stretching across the entire Eastern Front. Gamers can engage in an epic campaign, including division-sized battles with realistic and historical terrain, weather, orders of battle, logistics and combat results.

The critically and fan-acclaimed Eastern Front mega-game Gary Grigsby’s War in the East just got bigger and better with Gary Grigsby’s War in the East: Don to the Danube! This expansion to the award-winning War in the East comes with a wide array of later war scenarios ranging from short but intense 6 turn bouts like the Battle for Kharkov (1942) to immense 37-turn engagements taking place across multiple nations like Drama on the Danube (Summer 1944 – Spring 1945).

I believe his two month ban from the forum should be over today. Is that correct?

Good I hope he comes back, regardless of his sometimes lack of "diplomatic ability", I think he always provides some valuable insights on the game.

There is a *negotiation* in process. I hope he comes back too. But he needs to curb some of his ways or the forum bosses will ban him permanently.

IDK I think people over-react to what Pelton says...some people have thin skin. Its the internet and in its in text/type--most people in my experience get much more offended via typing/text than verbal communication as something even worded slightly wrong can set people off.

Its a game and some people like to talk crap like Pelton...IMO grow some thick skin and move on. He adds some good commentary on the game at times and has a tendency to report not very accurate "facts" at times but overall many of his comments have helped the game over time.

Matrix have behaviour rules for the forum, which are clear and easy to follow, and they have to be applied equally to all.

Pelton is a keen german player and I've learned a lot from his way of playing.

He can also be cruel in his comments, not only to the players buts also to 2by3

In french we say:
"ne mords pas la main qui te nourrit"

Which means
Do not bite the hand which feeds you

Unfortunatly, he did it...

I like the guy, his help to others playing this game has been a big help to many who play this game but that doesn't give him cart blanch to treat others disrespectful.

I'd hope he turns the page, controls his negative emotions and is able to join the forum again.

This should be moved to another forum. It is not an AAR.

What you say is true,it comes out in his post his passion for the game, although his games of late
seem to be exactly the same. I will admit that my first couple of moves are the same, but after that I like to try different things, but then my object is different & that is to keep Germany in the war till 45.
But,I cant help think of the players we have lost because of Pelton comments.
I played last year a Russian player who contacted me by PM. who refuses to post, because he is afraid of the response he may get.

So what does it say about the forum?

One thing I have noticed lately is that a lot of newbies have been posting questions, which is a good thing.[&:]

I agree this thread should be moved.

Having said that I fear Pelton will not be returning to this forum anytime soon. Maybe not at all.

Matrix have behaviour rules for the forum, which are clear and easy to follow, and they have to be applied equally to all.

I am from NY we always put in our 2 cents.

We all know the rules on forums and what matrix punishment was.

2 months.

Sillyflower is driving 90 mph in a 50 mph and gets a ticket.

The fine is $500 dollars and his licence is suspended for 30 days.

Silly pays the fine and goes to pick up his licence, but the Judge says he has to pay another $5000 or its stays suspended.

Just guessing, but most people would not think that has much of anything to do with the "rules" or the law.

Pelton is a bonehead for sure, but changing the punishment after it has been served is like the kettle calling the pot black.

Be nice to see what demands 2by3 is asking of Pelton.

I say allot less then all the old timers who left that discovered the game was not playable after 43.

Thanks to allot of hard work by morveal and his team and play testers like Pelton it is playable now to 45.

That's very important for someone like me who only plays H v AI.

It really sucked to find out the game I had 100+ hours in was screwed up because of swapping bugs. My German army disappeared as 1 million men got stuck in manpower pool.

I almost quit playing, but I did not and paid money for WitW because I saw morveal and company fixing the game.

So 2by3 should not be biting the hand that feeds them.

You should only insult people who can defend themselves and insults can get you baned also I hear.

But I hoping this forum is not like NY, if your not in the right party your free game.

I agree. The punishment once served should be enough. Pelton knows he is on his last chance if he returns. Give him his chance. Or go public and explain why it's now a permanent ban.

wrong subject, wrong section.

after–action report

noun | af·ter–ac·tion report

Popularity: Bottom 10% of words

Definition of after–action report

1

: a detailed critical summary or analysis of a past event (such as a military action, but not limited to) made for the purposes of
re-assessing decisions and considering possible alternatives for future reference

Looks like it fits the definition as a AAR, I say leave it here

with all respect, 'wrong subject, wrong section' is a quite poor answer. :-)
Pelton might be the worst imaginable customer :-), but his case is neither solved nor forgetten.
I would strongly advise to react in a proper way.
