Air execution phase bogging down with battle reports

I'm playing the normandy breakout battle and the air execution phase is bogging down so much that the game is unplayable. I get individual reports at the top of the screen, such as aircraft damaged by .303, and this air executive phase is taking literally 100x as long to play as what I've seen in youtube videos. I am simply not getting through a single air execution phase. After 20 minutes I only get through 6% of the air execution phase. The issue seems to be associated with the battle reports as the youtube videos don't have those reports popping up. I have a high end gaming machine so that isn't the problem.

You should lower combat resolution message level (keys from '0'(off) to '7').
