Beautiful - thanks for sharing.

I'm sure this is the Academy model I have been trying to build for 3-years now. Sadly I cannot get anything like that standard and am trying just the basic version of the model (i.e. not the photo-etched stuff which is waaay above my skill level).

What I could do though - if only I knew how - was to try and get the weathering effect. Does anyone know how the hell they do that? That light grey area is amazing [&o].

the rust effect which kind of runs does look good, the girlfriend adds the colour then before it's dry's just add's thinner to let some of the colour bleed a little bit and run, but she only does Jewel boxes and the like but same effect on things that should be metal but aren't.

same effect also for faded shading and blending so to give the effect of shadow or dirt, age etc, but instead of letting stuff run, she just dabs with cotton wool with thinners on it so the colour isn't so bright.

what starts off looking a new as a pin soon looks old and shabby, which is what she and you maybe after[;)]

Is there maybe a YouTube video with the making of the various models?

That would be fantastic...we still put The Beatles 2 together with Julian Lennon, James McCartney, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey (Starr)...they are all alive and well! [:)]
