xp problems

Post by jjby »

Could anyone assist me in getting Uncommon Valor to play in XP? When I bought the game, it worked fine with XP. Now it will not start. The opening screen comes up but when the video starts the system goes back to the XP home screen and will not allow me to start the game. Does anyone have a solution? I have not been able to play the game for some time. thanks,

The problem is with the introductory video clips. The computer begins to play them then reverts to the windows screen. I downloaded a patch from microsoft to fix the problem. It partially worked for a short time. Is there a way to bypass the introductory files to get to the game?

Rename the video folder to something else and the videos won't play.

I gave that a chance, but now I get to the screen with the plane taking off and can get no further. As soon as it gets to that screen it reverts back to the windows screen. I can not get any further. Any other help you can ofter would be appreciated.

That is very strange. I think you may need to reinstall (and re-patch) if you have not already done so.
