then why not the same area..2 weeks after? Things got a lot more fluid with the Red Army counterattack and units and weapons are the same. Also MG 'd have shorter engagement ranges and be more infantry based..another problem for the engine :)

Sure, totally possible. You probably know the battle better than I do, have any suggestions for dates/places?

FWIW, haven't seen infantry to be a problem. Various weapon ranges actually make them pretty fun (from mortars and HMGs down to SMG's and hand grenades close in.) Haven't done a pure infantry vs infantry test, I'll put that on the list of things to try.

The AI was set up on the premise that most of the actions in WW3 would be Meeting Engagements or NATO defense. Nothing like the mix of combat on the Eastern Front in WW2.

My recommendation for scenarios would be Meeting Engagements. There were multitudes of those in 1941 and they were more restricted as the war progressed.

The 'Year of 10 Victories' should give you a lot of material. That year was 1944, which has some of the more high powered weapons available as well.

There are some major meeting engagements during almost all of the major operations and some of those have tremendous potential.

Good Hunting.

Yeah, bunch of tabletop games use it. MMP's grand tactical series is a great example, really well done.

Glantz has very detailed maps and OOBs

this has excellent red army sources

This last one is my favorite it has great maps of several meeting engagements, lots of detail at the right scale and great equipment silhouettes. At $12 it's a steal.
