Hot Patch version 02 02 06 00

Post by Shannon V. OKeets »

Attached is a zipped file that contains Release Notes and the new MWIF.exe: version 02.02.06.00.

The primary reason for making this available as a hot patch is #19 below.

=========
Release Notes for Version 2.2.6.0

Program Development
1. Converted primary development computer operating system to Windows 10.

2. Updated the Delphi Interactive Development Environment (IDE) to the current version to support Windows 10.

3. Upgraded Mad Except to version 4.0.15 to support Windows 10.

Air Operations
4. Added a check to avoid a possible fatal error after all ground strikes have been processed.

5. Added a check to avoid a possible non-fatal error when checking whether rebasing an air unit causes it to be interned.

6. Added a check to avoid a possible non-fatal error when determining whether any units can move at the start of the Port Attack phase.

7. Added a check to avoid a possible fatal error when undoing a move during the Air Transport phase.

8. Added code so all air-to-air combat results at night are reduced one level unless the fighter that is firing (i.e., rolling the dice) is a night fighter.

9. Disabled the ability to select carrier air units a second time for air missions in the same phase when playing without the optional rule Carrier Air Units. Previously it was possible to fly both a temporary carrier air unit and then the carrier itself (!) on a bombing mission to a land hex.

Land Operations
10. Added a check for USSR units entering Japanese controlled hexes in China when China has not been conquered. Under those precise circumstances, the rules state that the USSR units must satisfy Foreign Troop Commitment requirements.

11. Fixed a problem with calculating Partisan garrison values for a unit whose controlling major power was completely conquered.

12. Added a check so partisan units which are forced to retreat outside their home country are destroyed.

13. Fixed a problem with the attacker taking required losses in a successful invasion.

Naval Operations
14. Fixed several related problems to moving convoys and then using the Split and/or toggling the Sentry options to enable previously moved convoys to move a second time.

Supply
15. Fixed a problem with calculating supply for German controlled units (which should no longer be on the map) after Germany has been completely conquered.

Production Planning
16. Added a check for counting convoys in Production Planning; if the resource is being used or saved “in place”, then the convoys used are shown as zero.

Quit
17. Added a check to avoid a non-fatal error when quitting the game while the Move First form is visible.

Game Save/Restore
18. Added code for games saved at the Weather phase so the Weather form is always shown when they are restored.

19. Fixed a problem with restoring saved games so the Last Route is always reinitialized instead of using the current Override Route. This fixes the problem with extraordinarily large saved games (over 100 MB) and associated fatal errors during Production Planning.

Player Interface
20. Added a check to make sure there is a current Screen Layout in use before trying to retrieve associated Map View Lists. This avoids a possible non-fatal error.

NetPlay

21. None of the above changes was specifically for NetPlay.
